We finally took the leap.
In 15 short days, our next adventure will begin. We’ll pack our lives into the back of a moving truck and travel about 1,000 miles north to our new home in Washington, DC.
Almost two years ago, Craig and I visited DC for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary — and we fell in love with the city. We spent the last day of our trip entertaining the idea of picking up our lives and moving. And yet, we didn’t take the leap.
Throughout the next year, we continued to casually bring up the idea of leaving Orlando to venture off to DC, though our conversations usually ended with a laugh, sigh, and an “I wish!” As often as the notion came up in conversation, we still didn’t take the leap.
We returned to our favorite city this past December for another anniversary celebration. And as we sat at dinner, sipping wine, dreaming about the future, we knew it was time for a new season — and realized nothing would be worthwhile unless we took a risk and sought adventure.
We were finally ready to take the leap.
So, now that you know a little bit of our story, I’m also excited to share that Peacock & Bear will serve as a joint venture between Craig and I. We’ll both be updating regularly with a look into our new life in DC right here on the blog.
We can’t wait to start our adventure — and we’re excited and thankful to have you join us on our journey!
